Using Traffic Exchanges For Web Site Traffic
Traffic Exchanges are websites designed
to have your web site shown to viewers in exchange for you viewing
other marketer's web sites. Basically, you receive traffic
credits for viewing web sites and when your web site is shown to
others, you spend those credits.
See the ad block above the H1 tag? That ad block is from a new Traffic Exchange sytem called the Real Traffic Exchange. Simply put, the system works like this:
You sign up for a free account.
You add sites into the network, which are reviewed for
quality and content.
You drop some javascript onto those sites, and when
your visitors click on the targeted, AdSense-like ads
shown on your pages, you earn credits.
You spend those credits by creating your own ads which
get shown on targeted pages relating to your ads.
Now, traffic exchanges are a good method to use to get free exposure to your
web site. Most traffic exchanges are free to join and most also
have pay upgrades. Paid ugrades enable you and/or your downline
to receive a higher ratio of credits when you view sites or "surf" as
it is called.
Traffic exchanges can be manual surf or auto surf. Manual surf
traffic exchanges offer you a higher ratio of # of pages you view : #
of your pages shown as credits. For example, a manual exchange may show your
page once for every one page you view. This is a 1:1 view to surf
ratio. Auto surf traffic exchanges do not offer as high a view to
surf ratio. The obvious reason for this is that with an auto surf
traffic exchange, you can set it up and let your computer run all night
without having viewed any sites! So, typically, an auto surf will
ususally get you around a 2:1 view to surf ratio (they vary) which
means that you have to view two sites for your site to be shown once.
Auto surf traffic exchanges can be useful however. My favorite one is AutoHits.dk.
AutoHits gives you a 1.6:1 view to surf ratio which means that you have
to view 1.6 sites for your site to be shown once. A great
feature of AutoHits is that you can use it to accumulate credits on a
manual surf traffic exchange by putting in your referral link to be
shown.
Setting it up this way allows you to accumulate credits on that free
manual traffic change by feeding it credits created by auto surfing on
AutoHits. Also, since your referral link is being shown on
AutoHits, you can increase your downline in that exchange at the same
time because of the exposure you are getting for auto surfing that
link.
I use AutoHits with the manual traffic exchange Hitpulse in this manner. This
way I don't have to surf with Hitpulse
to get credits since they are being created for me automatically by my AutoHiits surf
credits. If you download the free Follow Up To Wealth ebook you
can get specific instructions on how to set this up for yourself.
It is a good idea to target your market when you use traffic
exchanges. What I mean by this is that most people are surfing
traffic exchanges to get credits for their promotion. If you are
showing a product or promotion that is not targeted to that montra you
will not receive very good results (click throughs). This is why
I focus on promoting affiliate products or links that offer some
sort of traffic improvement or list building component as opposed to promoting an MLM product.
Building a downline in traffic exchanges is a good idea since people in
your downline that surf will earn you credits. If you have a big
enough downline and that downline surfs enough, they will earn you
enough credits that you may not have to surf yourself.
A web site called Traffic Hoopla
can be instrumental in helping you build a downline in Traffic Hoopla
itself as well as many other traffic exchanges. Traffic Hoopla
has a unique feature where it ranks many other traffic exchanges and
safelists and posts a report of the top 50 exchanges and the top 20 safelists
on its website. Members can use these reports for downline
building as you can join these exchanges through Traffic Hoopla's site
and populate your referral link for each exchange you join in the member's area.
Then, use
Traffic Hoopla's referral link to surf with
on other traffic exchanges. Any resulting click throughs and
signups will be through your referral links which means you just added to
your downline! It is highly probable that your downlines will
increase
by doing this since people using the traffic exchanges are interested
in knowing the
relative ranks of all the traffic exchanges that Traffic Hoopla
monitors and will click to find this out.
