How To Make Money With Chitika Advertising
A
new pay per click advertising system has recently been getting a lot of
attention in the internet home business world and rightly so. The system is called Chitika eMiniMall and provides another great way to monetize your website.
Chitika eMiniMalls are a form of pay per click advertising that combines contextual
advertisements with product pictures, a description of the product, where the best
deals for purchasing the product are found and even a search box.
Chitika ads are called eminimalls because the ads provide you
everything you need to know about the product being displayed without
leaving your web site.
I
have found Chitika ads are used best for
displaying advertising on a physical product like a book, an electronic
device, a software package or even a vitamin supplement package deal.
Below is an example
of a Chitika Ad that I have setup that uses the keyword "website
software" to drive the ad content. Notice the ad will display a different yet relevant
product on new page loads (usually). Click on the ad if you like to check out how it works. :o)
As
a web site publisher, you place Chitika eMiniMalls
on your website to
earn
money when the displayed ads are clicked upon. When the ads are
clicked, you earn 60% of what Chitika earns from the advertiser for a
given click. The actual amount you earn, is of course, based on
the specific ad content. This works just as it does with
Google Adsense.
Chitika ads offer unique
benefits for advertsing that sets them apart from other pay per click
advertising methods like Google Adsense. Some of these benefits
are:
Targeted Product Merchandising: Brings products related to
your site content to the visitor.
Comparative Shopping All In One Place: Users can make
informed buying decisions without leaving your site!
Robust Comparative Shopping: Access to multiple merchants,
prices, ratings, reviews, related blog material and more;
informed shopping increases click-through probability.
Intelligent: Learns and adapts to focus on the products
your customers want to buy.
Flexibility: Let's you choose between automatic contextual
targeting or setting the top keywords yourself.
Using
Chitika EminiMalls on the same webpage with other content targeted
programs such as Google Adsense requires that you disable both the contextual advertising
feature
of the ad and also search box feature. That
is why the ad above does not have a search box and also why I used my
own targeted keyword "website software" to drive the ads. If you
use Chitika on a web page without Adsense ads, then those features
could be enabled if you like.
The
Chitika Ad code can be altered to change the colors of the ad to match
your website. You can also change which tab of the ad is
displayed as the default tab. For instance, the ad above is
formatted to have the "Best Deals" tab show up on the top of the other
tabs. I prefer this because the body of the ad and the picture
usually provide a description of the product already.
Chitika ads come in various ad formats just like Google Adsense
ads. The format above is a 300x250 rectangle. Other formats
are banner (468x60), leaderboard (728x90) and square (250x250). Other formats are also available.
Chitika
eMiniMalls are ideal to use with WordPress Blogs. This is because
a plugin exists for the eMiniMalls that integrates the Chitika Ad
content directly into your blog post!
To
set this up, the first thing you have to do is to install the WordPress
eMIniMall plugin. The Plugin is available from x74.org.
A version of the plugin that has had modifications to allow compliance
for use with Google Adsense ads is available in the powerful WordPress
blog automation tool package WordPress Elite.
Once the plugin is
installed, the eMiniMall code <div class="chitika"><eminimall
products="what, what"/></div> must be added to your
post. The "what, what" represents the keyword search terms you
want the ad to display for. Multiple terms can be separated by
commas as in the above example. This format is what must be used
along with Adsense Ads because you cannot use the contextual ad feature
if Adsense and Chitika exist together on the same web page.
A great tip for blog posting Chitika Ads would be to set up an autopost sequence. You
can auto post to your blog using a WordPress autopost plugin or a tool
like RSS2Blog. The autoposted text content would have to contain
the eMiniMall code integrated in the text you are posting. Each
successive post would result in the display of a different Chitika
advertisement.
